Why PEERS?

“We have the necessary knowledge, experience, and resources for your school district to streamline a fully prudent, cost effective, and compliant administrative process for your 403(b) plan, as well as your long-term disability insurance needs. In addition to effective plan operations, our due diligence process is designed
to reduce risk and conflicts of interest.”

The Department of the Treasury said “these regulations drafted enable plan sponsors to take a more active role in administering their plans by making it necessary for plan sponsors to manage and report on the status of their 403(b) accounts, enabling participants to save for retirement in a more structured and simplified manner.”

An employer’s requirement to assume some fiduciary responsibility under the newly imposed IRS 403(b) regulations may not be exempted by the Department of Labor’s Safe Harbor Regulations for non-ERISA plans under which public school 403(b) programs would otherwise qualify. For these reasons, our goal is to help you understand what you need to know and to help you implement what is required by the regulations.

When you employ PEERS', you will find that we will walk with you through the entire fiduciary process, from the creation of your school district’s plan document to the formation of an investment committee and the education of its members.  We will also assist you in analysis and selection of  403(b) vendors best suited for your district.  PEERS accomplishes this  by investment product due diligence and selection, and the required monitoring of investment choices both quarterly and annually including annual tactical analysis of the plan expenses and utilization.

PEERS offers your public school district asset management and customer service.   Participants benefit from a selection of passive strategic or active tactical asset management plans. Within our asset management plans, a broad range of allocation models is available, tailored to the participants’ investment objectives. PEERS' staff dedicates itself to individualized, financial advisory service. We endeavor to fulfill the most important of agendas --- creating a successful retirement plan experience for your faculty and staff.

As an added value consistent with the PEERS tradition of educational excellence, we offer voluntary educational seminars at each school within your school district to those faculty members who seek additional information about their financial independence. Our goal is to proactively address the most central financial concerns of our participants and their family members.
